My Dad was a boxer when he was a young man. He taught me how to use a speed bag and got me interested in the sport. Muhammad Ali is one of my favorite boxing icons. Not only was he a champion boxer, he was also quite the showman.
My Dad recently gave me a poster of Ali boxing with the quote, “I’m so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.” I smile every time I read that.
I’m inspired by Ali. He was one of the greatest in his profession. Combined with natural talent, he worked hard to achieve success. Here is another quote that gives insight into how he achieved greatness:
“Impossible is just a big word thrown about by small men who find it easier to live in the world they have been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
Dream big. Break through the mental walls that hold you back. You can achieve. It’s starts with a choice. Choose to be great.
